The short version. OwnCoach is a free app to log your food, weight and training. Your data stays yours. Use the app sensibly, look after your health, and keep in mind that OwnCoach is a tracker, not a doctor or a coach.
About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and OwnCoach, based in the Netherlands, for using the OwnCoach app and website. By creating an account you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Health Disclaimer, which are part of this agreement.
Who can use OwnCoach
You must be at least 16 years old. You need an account with a working email address, and you are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in links to yourself. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
Using OwnCoach
You may use OwnCoach for your own, personal tracking. You agree not to:
- break the law or anyone's rights while using it;
- try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours;
- overload, scrape or disrupt the service, or get around its limits;
- copy, resell or rebuild the app or its exercise library.
Your content
Everything you log or create, like weigh-ins, foods, recipes, photos and workouts, stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and show it only to run OwnCoach for you. We don't use it for anything else, and the permission ends when you delete it.
Make sure you have the right to anything you upload, such as photos.
Our content and third-party data
The app, its design and the exercise library, including the instructions, belong to OwnCoach. Barcode lookups use data from Open Food Facts, which is available under the Open Database License and contributed by volunteers. We can't guarantee that food data, from Open Food Facts or anywhere else, is complete or correct.
Price
OwnCoach is currently free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you clearly beforehand, and nothing you already use will start costing money without your agreement.
Availability and changes
We work to keep OwnCoach running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If a change affects you in an important way, we tell you in advance.
Your health
OwnCoach shows you your own numbers. It does not give medical advice. You are responsible for your choices about food and exercise. Read the Health Disclaimer for the details.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost data or lost profit, or for injury that results from exercise or diet choices you make. Our total liability to you is limited to 100 euros. None of this limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that the law says can't be limited.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using OwnCoach at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where possible we warn you first and give you the chance to take your data with you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we tell you at least 30 days in advance. If you don't agree, you can stop using OwnCoach and have your account deleted before the change applies.
Law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in another country in the European Union, you keep the protection of the consumer law of that country. We'd like to solve any problem together first, so please contact us. If that doesn't work, a dispute can go to the competent court in the Netherlands or in the country where you live.
